A Chartered Accountant, Ian Springett was appointed Chief Financial Officer and to the Board on 1 September 2008. Prior to joining Tullow he worked with BP plc for 23 years where he gained a wealth of international oil and gas experience. Most recently he worked as Group Vice President for Planning, reporting to the Group CEO and Executive Team. He also held a number of other senior positions within BP including Upstream CFO, Commercial Director of BP’s supply and trading business and Vice President for Finance in the USA, where he led the Group Treasury function and was simultaneously BP’s CFO in the Americas. Before joining BP he worked with Coopers and Lybrand between 1979 and 1985.
