Alistair Angus

Project Director

Alistair Angus has a technical background in chemistry and physical sciences with over 30 years experience in the oil industry. He began his career with Core Lab in Aberdeen carrying out PVT analysis of oil field fluids moving to Caleb Brett as head chemist for its oil & gas section, supervising analysis of oilfield products in accordance with IP and ASTM standards. Following this, he moved to Conoco UK Ltd where he gained project and operational experience in the positions of Lead Safety Engineer and Senior Quality Engineer. Transferring to Enterprise Oil he developed and applied his project and operations HSEQ experience with the Nelson Platform, the Cook and Pierce developments and the Corrib project in Ireland. Alistair joined RBA from Enterprise Oil and was seconded to EnCana, then Nexen, where, as Environment, Health and Safety Manager, he was focally involved in the Scott Transition from Hess to EnCana and then Nexen. He was also heavily involved in the Buzzard project as it moved from HUC to Operations. He has also been involved in many drilling campaigns including latterly Coal Bed Methane activities in Cheshire. Alistair has moved back into RBA to consolidate his role as General Manager for the Aberdeen office.


Alistair has represented companies on the UKOOA Safety, Environment, and Employment Practices Committees, Step Change in Safety Organisation and was Chairperson of the Irish Offshore Operators Association. He is currently a committee member of IOSH’s Offshore Specialist Group. His strengths are in his rounded HSEQ background and knowledge of the industry, his ability to provide practical solutions to complex problems and his skill in communicating at all levels. He is a Chartered member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, a Registered Safety Practitioner and an associate member of the Institute of Environment Management and Assessment.
