Job Description
You will be a competent control systems engineer or software engineer who has experience of applying solutions in business environments. You will have good understanding/ practical working knowledge of control systems, interfaces and possibly management information applications.

You must be a degree-qualified professional with relevant experience, not necessarily in the Oil & Gas industry. You will have drive and determination and be experienced on working on your own initiative. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and demonstrate a professional approach to work. Problem solving and the ability to work as part of a team are key characteristics.

Based in the Glasgow office, you must have the flexibility to travel to customers’ site and other company offices (e.g., Aberdeen).

Essential skills

- Experience developing industrial control systems solutions (e.g., DCS, SCADA, PLCs etc)
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Professional manner and confident in a customer-facing role
- Practical experience of commissioning

Desirable skills

- Experience developing control logic and/or graphics for Emerson DeltaV or similar third generation DCS
- Experience of industrial Interfaces (e.g., Modbus, OPC, ODBC, XML)
- Knowledge of O&G operations applications (e.g., F&G, ESD and PCS systems)
- Software life cycle model and experience in one or more of the following:
- PLC ladder logic;
- IEC1131 languages;
- Fix32 or iFix or other leading SCADA system.
- Experience of working within a formal quality environment
Qualifications
Educated to degree level in an engineering related discipline (preferably Control, Electrical and Electronic, or Chemical Engineering). Candidates with significant technical experience or demonstrable expertise in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
A full clean driving licence would be an advantage.
