The approach used in structuring a transaction determines the nature and complexity of subsequent implementing agreements. Most fundamental to the structure of a transaction is the alignment of interests of the parties involved. Other key factors include management, financing, taxation, and regulation.
Delegates will develop an understanding of how to approach these factors and relevant business models. They will also learn how to apply them in structuring petroleum industry transactions to maximise value and manage risks according to industry practices.
A simulation on how to structure a major petroleum development project where the production will be exported will be used to present the course material.
