Our client is a European leader in various engineering industries, especially water, transportation, and the building environment. Since their renewable energy business is significantly growing they are looking for a lead designer to work on small and medium sized hydro power generation projects, or as part of a project team on major commissions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the design elements of the project, including time and cost, either alone or through multi-discipline project teams. Applicants will be ducated to degree level or equivalent in Energy Engineering or related discipline. Applicants have or are working towards a recognised professional qualification and membership of Energy Institute and/or other appropriate professional bodies. Applicants have varied post-graduate experience in the renewable energy sector, the majority of which is to be in the hydro-energy market. Applicants have a detailed knowledge/experience of the management of hydro power generation projects, both financially and technically and appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration with regards to hydro energy projects. Applicants will demonstrate experience in hydro energy generation from 100kW to 1MW including the commercial understanding of the project lifecycle. Familiarity with software packages such as MS Project, Word, Excel or AutoCAD is essential. £40k negotiable.
