Two Senior Electrical Engineers are required to join an independent project management organization providing specialized manpower services to the upstream Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power industries.

The company’s involvement in the upstream oil and gas industry encompasses complete life cycle management of exploration and production projects. Their experience covers reserve identification, concept selection, project definition, execution and operation. This experience has been gained from both green-field and brown-field development projects, including fixed offshore platforms, floating production facilities, pipelines / sub-sea services, and onshore processing plants.

Job Description

Leading the Electrical Engineering Team, the Senior Electrical Engineers will be responsible for the following:-
• Contributing to the provision of electrical engineering expertise on all aspects of power generation and distribution systems during design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Assisting in the development of hazardous area classification for facilities, and ensure that the Electrical Safety Rules and Electrical Safety Operational Procedures are applied during the execution of the electrical works.
• Identifying electrical power requirements and develop electrical system philosophy; define power sources, network configuration and the main transmission and distribution systems.
• Defining system parameters and control philosophy.
• Developing standards for electrical safety in design and construction, and ensure implementation in all design and construction.
• Specifying plant reliability, availability and optimisation requirements.
• Developing the spare parts for all relevant electrical equipment and power supply systems based on system availability requirements in line with the approved philosophy.
• Developing contracting strategies and contract execution plans; manage contractor performance, contract variations and disputes/claims. Develop contract specifications, and participate in technical bid evaluations as required.
• Ensuring close liaison with the Area team Maintenance engineers in order to promote analysis of equipment failures, defects or under-performance through a systematic process.
• Participating in Electrical Safety audits and studies to ensure compliance with legislation, SPDC policies and SPDC, SIEP/SIOP, International standards/guidelines. Initiate and partake in technical and design reviews (e.g. HAZOP).
• Managing delegated authorities of any contracts as per the SPDC Contract Management Guideline with special emphasis on the HSE issues of the contractor.
• Maintaining frequent contact with other electrical engineers in SPDC in order to disseminate best practices, work practices and quality control systems. (e.g. attending the quarterly Interdivisional Electrical Coordination Meetings)
• Supervising the laying of cables on site and ensure that the activity runs concurrent with the pipelines laying operation.
• Preparing progress and performance reports as required.
• Direct/coaching others in the production of the discipline deliverables.
• Ensuring implementation of in-line management instructions.
• Managing personnel, resources planning, resourcing, task description, introduction and training, performance feedback / assessment, working atmosphere, team building, motivation.
• Ensuring appropriate communication / co-ordination through all levels and interfaces.
Managing quality, defines and implement project specific quality control program / checking procedures.
• Managing productivity, progress and total cost.
• Implementing project control and reporting requirements.

Education and Experience
Applicants must have a degree in Electrical Engineering as well as considerable experience in Electrical Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry. They must be knowledgeable in the maintenance and integrity issues over the full asset life cycle and conversant with SPDC and International Electrical Design Codes and Standards. They must also have a broad overview of the overall project engineering process and principles of project execution. Awareness of other engineering disciplines such as process, instrumentation, mechanical, pipelines and civil engineering is advantageous.
