Job Description:

Provide technical drilling expertise primarily for our north sea assets within (Triassic HPHT),Subsea Chalk Field) and HPHT exploration.
Ensure that development, appraisal, and exploration wells are drilled and completed in a safe, cost effective, and an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to all company core values, corporate requisites and policies, and UK legislation.
Lead technical role for drilling program planning and preparation, including casing and cementing design, directional planning, drilling assembly, drilling procedures, etc. for various field developments. Previous experience if leading an integrated well team essential.
Develop drilling strategies, operational plans and implementation of operations.
Provide input, expert opinion and assistance on all engineering and operational aspects of ongoing daily drilling activities as required.
Organize and implement project schedules, operational schedules, and forecasts.
Prepare drilling, completion, and workover cost estimates for AFEs and Budgets.
Assist in the preparation, evaluation and contract awards for support services and materials, including selection of the drilling rig. Administer contracts with outside suppliers of equipment and services.
Review drilling operations and engineering performance and make recommendations to management on the adoption of new equipment, technologies or techniques to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Ensure that the well plans are being followed and operational guidelines are being executed ensuring safety and environmental programs are being followed
The position is required to interface with operations, reservoir, projects, multiple contractors, and partners to optimize the drilling and completion operations and to ensure the efficient and cost effective implementation and the goals of the overall project are achieved.

Job Requirements:

Engineering degree + Extensive prior experience in Drilling Engineering and Operations.
High level of competency in offshore operations utilizing HDJU
HPHT experience in CNS
Competent in using drilling design software i.e. Well Plan, Compass, Torque & Drag, Hydraulics, and especially WellCat etc.
Self-starter
Project management skills with previous experience in offshore development projects.
Lead and finish specialised engineering studies with or without outside assistance.
Team player with strong communication, networking and motivational skills
Demonstrated mentoring skills with a keen interest in training and developing less experienced staff.
Standard skills: Uncompromising adherence to company core values. Good judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to create an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Planning and organizing skills. Good interpersonal skills either one-on-one or in a group situation.
