Job Description
Our client is looking to recruit Engineering Consultants at all levels to help grow their business within the Process Control consultancy practice.
This is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing specialist team with an excellent reputation and contribute to its onward growth and expansion.

You will come from a consulting background and demonstrate a sound understanding of process control and automation. You will have a working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or SCADA and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) technologies, and experience in a consultancy environment.
You will have an active network of business contacts.

The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate significant experience and expertise in at least one of the following technologies:
• Distributed Control Systems (DCS);
• SCADA;
• Programmable Logic Controllers;
• Safety Instrumented Systems.
Experience or understanding of the following would also be advantageous:
• Functional Safety standards IEC61508/61511;
• Alarm Management and EEMUA 191;
• System support and troubleshooting;
• Advanced Process Control and/or optimisation;
• Process simulation;
• OPC interoperability standards.

The successful candidate must demonstrate an excellent track record in the successful delivery of consultancy and project management assignments.
You will have a sound commercial awareness of identifying, developing and presenting value-added propositions for customers, following through to deliver profitable and reputation-enhancing consultancy assignments.

Our client's business is highly customer-focused and hence requires excellent verbal and written communication skills – applicants therefore require a track record of engaging successfully with senior-level customer contacts. In addition, applicants must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with various levels of management, business users and IT staff.

Experience of working within an ISO9001:2000 Quality environment, ISO27001 Information Security Management or ISO14001 Environmental Management System would be an advantage.

You will be a self-starter, highly motivated and capable of showing initiative. More experienced candidates should be capable of supervising a team of engineers on larger projects.

This role may involve periods of working on customer site throughout the UK and occasionally internationally. The role will be based in Glasgow.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in an engineering related discipline (preferably Control, Electrical and Electronic, or Chemical Engineering). Candidates with significant technical experience or demonstrable expertise in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
- A full clean driving license is essential.
Candidates must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
