Opus Executive Partners has been retained to conduct a search for a President and COO for an O&G company with exploration concessions in West Africa. West Africa has become a very hot spot for actions with recent two major discoveries Venus oil discovery offshore Sierra Leone in Sep 09 by Anadarko and oil discovery Jubilee Fields offshore Ghana in June 07 by Kosmos Energy. Our client owns 100% of exploration and development blocks between these two discoveries with very attractive fiscal terms. The company is a pre-IPO company and currently going through listing process on AIM. This position will be based in London, UK.
The successful candidate would ideally have a very strong technical background in offshore exploration and development, experience managing complex international businesses and have cultural awareness of operations in West Africa. In addition, he/she will have an excellent reputation and standing with Canadian, US and UK investment banking communities.
