Saudi Aramco, long known for its leadership in oil exploration, production, and refining, is seeking experienced professionals to join our Domestic Joint Venture Coordination department. We have an immediate requirement for experienced Commercial Consultant.
The Commercial Consultant provides counsel and assistance to management in a wide variety of operational, governance, and business matters associated with the Company's directly owned joint venture (JV) investments and those under development (asset value in excess of $63 billion). The Commercial Consultant also develops and assists with the development of organizational documentation and agreements for JVs as well as procurement for projects and expansion, all with significant financial impact. The Commercial Consultant may also provide advice to Company-nominated Directors serving on JV boards, and assist with the development of corporate governance programs for Company nominated Directors on such boards. This position reports directly to the Director, Domestic Joint Venture Coordination Department and works independently with a minimal amount of functional guidance.
Principle responsibilities include:
- Identifies overlaps and proactively manages optimization activities across Saudi Aramco joint ventures that have a petrochemical element.
- Understands refinery interlinkages with petrochemicals and becomes the main interface with in-house and external refinery experts to support current and proposed joint venture chemical operations.
- Well conversant with the appropriate sources to secure market intelligence and technical data for various chemical businesses. Will lead efforts to develop and maintains a knowledge reservoir for petrochemical group.
- Develops and ensures compliance of potentially new business processes arising out of the chemicals business participation with current Aramco organizations and internal standards.
- Develops and actively mentors a self motivated team of industry experts and specialists in the area of chemicals. Identifies potential skills gaps and identifies potential measures to close such gaps including hiring of new resources.
- Recommends and implements solutions to improve chemicals group efficiency.
Minimum Requirements: BS in Economics, Business Administration or other related degree with demonstrated ability and experience in corporate agreements development. An MBA or similar postgraduate degree in Finance/Economics is preferred, and a J.D. degree is highly desirable.
Fifteen (15) years experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other significant commercial operations, and/or experience related to the oversight of investments with a focus on corporate governance, contract engineering or contract procurement; diversified practice with a law firm or the law department of a business firm or organization is preferred.
