Are you a Petroleum Geologist, Geophysicist or Engineer who is interested in moving into financial markets?
We are seeking a Petroleum Geologist or a Geophysicist who understands oil & gas exploration, development and operations. This person may be interested in capitalising on this knowledge and leveraging off our skills in financial analysis and equity valuation, within the equities markets.
Remuneration is negotiable - skills, experience and qualifications will be taken into account. We do ask that the successful candidate be prepared to make an investment in themselves, as bonuses can be a significant part of remuneration for effective Analysts.
This role will focus on small to mid-cap stocks (say, up to 5,000 bbls/day), hence the performance of a single asset will have a significant influence on the company’s net cash generation. For this reason, it is important to be able to properly understand operations and be able to confidently and competently represent these operations to institutional clients.
The Oil & Gas Analyst is part of the Basic Materials and Energy Research team. The team has initiated research on four ASX listed oil & gas companies and the role will require both maintaining current research coverage and increasing the number of companies that we have under research coverage.
We aim to have coverage of a large of companies in this sector, with research that is acknowledged to be of high quality.
The successful candidate is likely to;
- have spent some years working for an oil & gas company in a relevant capacity;
- have an interest in financial evaluation and equity markets;
- want to extend their skill set to include equity research;
- want to firstly understand and then explain operating and financial outcomes and projections for oil & gas companies.
