An organisation that offers a wide range of services to the oilfield and marine industries is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The company is employed by one of the world’s major drilling contractors to survey and audit their rigs worldwide, for which the Mechanical Engineer will provide technical evaluation and assistance.
Job Description
Working as a stand-alone Mechanical Engineer, the job holder will be required to carry out the following duties:
• Modeling all types of mechanical equipment
• Engineering drawing & datasheet preparation
• RFQ Preparation
• Bid Evaluation
• Preparation of technical quotation for Purchase Order Requisitions & vendor document review
• Supervising all mechanical works during the construction and equipment fitting
• Monitoring the materials and equipment supply
• Ensure tight schedules and budgets are met
• Daily planning of job tasks including safety issues to ensure minimal disturbance and safety of everyone involved
• Coordinating maintenance activity and making the planning of any unforeseen repair to equipment
Education and Experience
Applicants must have a higher education level qualification in Mechanical Engineering. A degree is advantageous. Extensive offshore experience in the oil and gas sector is essential as is the ability to provide mechanical maintenance services without training.
