LEAD HVAC ENGINEER - Surrey
Responsible for delivering HVAC engineering and design input for projects.
To provide support to a project in all aspects of HVAC engineering and design.
Act as Lead HVAC Engineer
Planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimating when requested.
Manages discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of HVAC discipline personnel on the project. This includes approval of time sheets, holiday approval and overtime approval where delegated.
Act as discipline approver (& originator where necessary) for all HVAC engineering and design deliverables(specifications, datasheets, studies, reports & VDRF’s etc), whilst following all operational procedures.
Act as checker for any discipline deliverables.
Coordinating with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring that other disciplines’ input is incorporated.
Manage engineering deliverables issue and transmittal records.
Review Basis of Design (BOD) & Project Execution Plan (PEP).
Review all relevant client provided data.
Perform preliminary/basic sizing of HVAC equipment to provide preliminary input to the MEL, structural & layouts group.
Ensures equipment compliance with electrical, structural & instrument specifications, as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards.
Prepare enquiry requisitions in PDMC/Pacesetter.
Perform Criticality Ratings for equipment packages.
Evaluate bids & prepare technical bid evaluations & provides input to joint purchase recommendation.
Report on work status/problem areas/needs on a weekly basis.
Liaison with and reporting to Project Management and Client.
Responsible for:
Delivery of HVAC engineering and design deliverables.
Ensure all aspects of the corporate document ‘Operation of Piping Discipline – London’ are implemented. Project QA audits will verify implementation.
Ass the Piping Manager to prepare & issue department HVAC documents.
UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
Chartered engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution preferred.
Practical knowledge of PDMS and AutoCAD. Experience of leading a design team.
