Gas Control Operator

Job Description:
• The Gas Controller monitors and controls the flow of natural gas on Clients interstate pipeline and gathering systems to assure daily receipt and delivery requirements are met within DOT and tariff standards while optimizing compression equipment usage and maintaining safe operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Operates and controls the flow of natural gas through pipelines from the Gas Control Center utilizing a computerized system (SCADA).
• Monitors flows, pressures, and gas qualities across the system and responds to SCADA system alarms to provide safe and reliable service.
• Provides daily forecasts of system-wide gas requirements and adjusts to differences between forecasted and actual.
• Plans and executes adjustments to pipeline flows, compression, and linepack to best meet current and anticipated customer demands.
• Interfaces with gas schedulers and pipeline operations and maintains collaborative inter-departmental and cross-functional working relationships will all members of the department and with both office and field employees.
• Completes Operator Qualification Training as required by Company and DOT regulations and maintains that qualification at required intervals.

Required Qualifications:
• Individual must have a high school degree. College degree and a minimum of 3 years of Gas Control experience is preferred.
• Individual must possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work in a team environment.
• Individual must be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, and have a working knowledge of gas hydraulics and compressors.
