ORGANISATION
A global exploration and production organisation that employs over 500 staff worldwide is currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join their FPSO Programme Team. The company has interests in four major offshore blocks in which they have made several discoveries. The concept for the developments is a clustered subsea production system tied back to a converted FPSO with a forward bow mounted turret. The challenge is to deliver these developments (in a resource constrained market) safely while deriving value from the economies of scale and standardisation opportunities offered by the programme approach. The role will be based in Staines initially but will transition to Singapore in 2009.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Working on a high profile project in a key role, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
• Power generation equipment and power system design
• Power system analysis including load flows, fault and motor starting studies
• Electrical protection systems and coordination
• Emergency and essential generation equipment procedures
• Selection, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas
• HV switchgear and rotating machinery
• Technical direction and assurance of electrical issues providing support for project planning, execution and commissioning activities
• Liaise with project discipline engineers, and contractors to ensure a safe integrated design in achieved
• HAZOPs, engineering reviews, CVP processes, equipment OEM reviews, etc
• Review and approval of contractor and vendor design documents
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
As well as a degree in electrical engineering, applicants must have a good level of experience in the areas listed above gained in the Oil and Gas industry.
SALARY AND REWARDS
The successful applicant will receive a salary of £60,000+ and a generous benefits package including a car and relocation allowance, bonuses, share scheme, insurance and pension package.
