You must come from a background selling soft solutions such as consultancy, project management, analysis or something in that field. Software/hardware sales, licenses, equipment etc. will not be suitable.
Your background must be in the Oil and Gas industry, preferably, or the extended utilities/energy sectors. Whilst we're open to the level of experience years or so experience, no 4Yrs + please)
You will need to have a demonstratable mix of new business sales and account management and retention, around the 50-50 mark. You will be required to bring in sales and manage them,
The role will be predominantly based around the SE, with the Staines office being a HQ, so this should be commutable there will be business travel involved.
We expect to pay a base salary of around £55-60,000 for this role, with the potential to earn an additional 100% OTE. The package includes pension and healthcare, and any extended business travel will be carried by the company (airline tickets etc). No car allowance is included.
This role encompasses many functions including:
Develop a clear understanding of the Company’s services and work with our team to identify business & technical challenges relating to our clients' information and data management issues and concerns.
Apply your knowledge to actively seek new business opportunities & create innovative business models to develop the business within the sector.
Develop an account plan and strategy to complement and support each clients’ objectives.
Develop a Sales plan appropriate for the Energy sector, identifying potential areas for development that support Company strategy and growth plans.
Ensure effective management of all sales activities within your accounts and ensure that all information is communicated to relevant people.
Account planning is to include new sectors within a clients' business, positioning your proposition to deliver new business opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all the people in your dedicated accounts.
Prepare proposals, pulling on pre-sales support from Heads of Practice, adhering to the process in ensuring technical services and business value are clearly presented.
Protect the existing business and continue to assess and grow new business opportunities within this base.
Liaise with marketing to increase awareness and reputation of the Company’s solutions.
Seek out, analyse and communicate market intelligence. Further develop knowledge of industry challenges and issues relating to data/information management.
Key Skills
The successful candidate will have:
Minimum of 4 + years + experience in sales account management within the Energy sector.
Ability to discuss integrated information management solutions to professionals and management.
Previous experience in selling, managing or delivering data and integrated information management solutions in one of the above Practice areas.
Strong understanding of the issues and an appreciation of the business and technical challenges surrounding data/information management within Energy sector.
A strong desire for success and to earn the rewards available from contributing to the growth of a dynamic company.
Ability to articulate propositions to clients at senior and/or board level.
Clear understanding of the information life cycle & value chain across the Energy sector.
Ability to adapt sales proposition to various industry sub-sectors (e.g. engineering, commercial, upstream) highly advantageous.
Ability to identify problems and formulate conceptual & technical solutions.
Team player – proven ability to work with all levels within the company to accomplish goals.
The ability to understand and analyse financial numbers as well as develop and evaluate capital appropriations and financial plans.
Ability to leverage contact & network base.
Highly service orientated.
