The subject of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is becoming increasingly relevant in the Middle East as many of the region’s giant reservoirs are maturing and require advanced methods to increase recovery of hydrocarbons. Although technical challenges and costs have often prohibited many oil companies from adopting EOR methods, it has quickly become more feasible, partly due to rising oil prices, and is expected to continue to grow with ongoing investment.
Held alongside one of the most renowned oil and gas exhibitions in Oman, OGWA Exhibition, the 2012 SPE EOR Conference presents a great opportunity for practicing engineers and geoscientists involved in EOR to present, share and discuss their experiences and lessons learnt.
