International market leaders in subsea, pipeline and instrumentation valve technology, Oliver Valves, have launched a brand new website that promises to be more than just an online catalogue.

“We have three separate specialist valve businesses represented by the www.valves.co.uk site; Oliver Valves, Oliver Valvetek and Oliver Twinsafe,” explains IT Manager, Kevin White. “Many of the solutions our companies offer are bespoke so we knew that a strictly e-commerce site wouldn’t necessarily help our customers. Instead we decided to provide a resource for the engineering and energy sector.”

The new site, launched to coincide with the Cheshire based company’s thirtieth anniversary, incorporates a blog where users can keep up to date with research and development as well as Oliver’s activities around the community such as their involvement in the World Water Speed Record attempt, a live oil and gas news feed and an engineering forum as well as detailed product information and case studies.

The new site also features a dedicated Human Resources section which offers an insight to a career with the Oliver companies as well as up to the minute job opportunities.

“The website now provides a superb opportunity for everybody, from students to senior engineers, to really get involved in the whole development process” said Mr White. “The blog is a perfect place for visitors to learn about the genesis of many of our products and really understand what makes our departments tick whilst the forum gives visitors the chance to broach their own flow control needs.

“The website isn’t just there to sell valves, it’s there to educate and we expect to learn as much from our customers, if not more, than they learn from us.”
