Central Asia offers a host of investment opportunities, which Scottish companies and their financiers cannot afford to pass up. The region boasts some of the world's largest oilfields, including Caspian super giant - Kashagan and onshore giants - Tengiz and Karachaganak in Kazakhstan. It is estimated that Azerbaijan's oilfields have 7 billion barrels and that together, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan account for approximately 4% of the world's oil reserves. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have attracted major energy investment from across the world. Both are significant economic hubs in the transportation of oil and raw materials from the centre of Asia to markets in the west.

The aim of this seminar is to highlight major matters affecting oil service companies in Kazakhstan. For those with an interest in Azerbaijan, the seminar will provide legal and tax guidelines for doing business under a PSA.
