There is an increasing focus by industry regulators and professional bodies on the need for formal processes for developing, maintaining and monitoring the competence of staff. A skilled and competent workforce is vital to the health of the oil and gas industry, in terms of ensuring safe operations, sustaining domestic oil and gas production and supporting the export of the knowledge and expertise that has grown up with it.
Our approval of a company’s Competence Management System (CMS) demonstrates that the organisation has a good quality, effective system for managing competence which brings real and lasting benefits in terms of business and safety performance.
