Ghana’s Jubilee Phase I Development Project

The next MTS Houston luncheon will be held on May 28 and will feature a presentation by Dennis McLaughlin, Kosmos Energy, on the Jubilee development offshore Ghana. Since this is a relatively new project, much of the information associated with the development is of a confidential or sensitive nature, so very little information is being made public at this time. However the presentation is open to anyone who is interested in hearing first hand about the development.

About the Speaker
Dennis McLaughlin is Vice President and Jubilee Project Director for Kosmos Energy, development operator for the giant new deepwater discovery offshore Ghana. He has 35 years of offshore engineering and management experience, most of which has involved frontier and deepwater technology. Dennis has worked for three manor natural resource companies, including roles as director for three milestone deepwater projects. He holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.

Luncheon and Reservations
MTS Houston luncheon presentations are held at the Omni Palace, 12121 Westheimer, Houston 77077, from 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. and are open to anyone with an interest in the oil and gas industry. The cost to attend the luncheons is $30 for members and $35 for non-members with a reservation or $50 for late registrations (after Tuesday May 28, 5:00 pm. and walk-ins.)

About the Marine Technology Society
The Houston Section of the Marine Technology Society is the largest Section in the Society. Its over 900 members are comprised mainly of professionals involved in offshore oil and gas exploration and recovery. The Section hosts regular lunch presentations, as well as a variety of fund-raiser social events. These include a Sporting Clays Tournament, Golf Tournament (July 23, 2009) and the Annual Barbecue in October.

The Section hosts and/or supports a number of conferences and seminars each year, including the Offshore Technology Conference, the Dynamic Positioning Conference (October 2009) and Underwater Intervention.
