At EAGE’s ‘Amsterdam '09’ conference, running from 8th to 11th June 2009, Exprodat will be previewing version 200 of its unique petroleum block ranking and portfolio analysis tool, Team-GIS Acreage Analyst, as well as Team-GIS Segment Analyst, a powerful new software application for building common risk segment maps for exploration play fairway analysis (www.exprodat.com).
Team-GIS Acreage Analyst is a powerful extension for ESRI’s ArcGIS that rapidly evaluates and grades oil and gas opportunities. It can be used to reduce technical uncertainty, better understand portfolio risk, reduce technical evaluation cycle times and make better decisions faster, as well as to implement consistent and auditable exploration processes through time and across assets. With Team-GIS Acreage Analyst the user can integrate multi-disciplinary asset data (e.g. geology, environment, economic, infrastructure), perform basin/play data integration and summation, define ranking criteria and weighting, rank acreage, identify opportunities, perform company analyses and develop portfolio investment strategy.
Team-GIS Segment Analyst is an ArcGIS extension for creating common risk segment maps of basins and play fairways. Multiple input layers from disparate sources (e.g. depositional environment, paleogeography, etc.) can be rapidly assigned numeric risk values to create component risk maps for key play system elements such as reservoir, source and seal, which can then be combined into a common risk segment model. With Team-GIS Segment Analyst the user can better understand spatial risk distribution and play extents, identify new opportunities and ‘sweet-spots’ and develop play investment strategy.
Exprodat’s Technical Director, Chris Jepps, says, “Our version 200 products feature a whole host of improvements over previous versions. For a start we’ve improved Team-GIS Acreage Analyst beyond recognition by dramatically extending its capabilities with new features such as a graphing and reporting module, completely flexible scoring as well as powerful new analysis capabilities. The primary aims of this release were three-fold: to enable users to complete an entire ranking workflow within the software, to extend the analysis capabilities and to slash the amount of data preparation required before using the software.”
”Team-GIS Segment Analyst is a new product, comprising tools based on the Common Risk Segment module from Team-GIS Acreage Analyst. We felt that these tools should be separated from the heavyweight analytical capabilities of Team-GIS Acreage Analyst as they’re applicable to a different phase of the exploration lifecycle, and in turn this has allowed us to be more competitive with both products, price-wise. We’ll be officially releasing them later this summer but if you’re coming to the conference please stop by our booth (#167) for a preview. As an experiment this year we’ll also be posting updates from the EAGE on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/exprodatgis), so if you can’t make the conference you’ll still be able to see what we’re up to.”
‘Amsterdam ‘09’ is the 71st annual EAGE Conference & Exhibition, and will be held from the 8th to 11th June 2009 at Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The theme of this year’s conference is "Balancing Global Resources" - particularly relevant to the E&P industry where the discovery, exploitation and disposal of resources must be tackled globally. ArcGIS is a scalable family of software products comprising a complete geographic information system (GIS) built on industry standards. ArcGIS is used for the creation, management, integration, analysis, display, and dissemination of spatial data. Visualization, editing, and analysis, along with advanced data management, distinguish the ArcGIS software family as the leading GIS software. Much more than a specialized offering for a small niche of specialists, ArcGIS is designed as a scalable system that can be deployed in every organization, from an individual desktop to a globally distributed network of people.
