Independent Data Services (IDS), the world’s largest provider of web-based reporting services to the upstream oil and gas industry, announces today that its system is receiving a further increase in its already high levels of service, delivery and system security, by making NTT Singapore Pte Ltd its preferred ISP.
IDS has put in place an internet connectivity and hosting relationship with NTT Singapore. IDS prides itself on offering the very highest quality of service to its clients, however this is greatly dependent upon many the variables of a net connection (ISPs, hosting sites, under-sea cables, etc.). In the past, IDS has used a number of communications providers, presenting the possibility of problems at border gateways and thus varying levels of service quality. IDS decided the best option was to use an international network player and chose NTT Singapore, being the Tier 1 Global IP Network provider. NTT Singapore is also well known for its system resilience and reliability.
IDS is now able to provide a uniform reverse-proxy configuration on all internet facing servers. If an ISP goes down, clients of IDS can now instantly switch URLs and access the same application and, most importantly, their data.
