Hermes wins contract to provide VSAT for the Petronas Kumang Cluster Project

Hermes Datacomms is thrilled to announce that it has won a 3 year contract to supply the VSAT, PABX and LAN system for the Petronas Kumang Cluster Project.

Hermes is providing the VSAT, PABX and LAN system for the central processing platform, KAKG-A CPP, the two drilling platforms, KUJT-A and F9JT-A and the onshore control centre in Bintulu, Malaysia.

Mohammed Abdul-Ajij-Rashid, Hermes Operations Director, Malaysia, explains "We are thrilled that we have been awarded this contract and that we are involved in such a major project. The VSAT link will be the primary form of communication during the offshore installation and commissioning. Once the troposcatter system is installed, the VSAT link will act as a backup".

Mohammed continues, "the fact that Hermes has been awarded this contract is testament to its ability to provide reliable and efficient communication systems in extreme and harsh conditions".
