General Robotics Limited, the leading supplier of simulation and visualisation software to the offshore oil and gas sector has opened an Aberdeen office to support its growing number of customers in the North Sea offshore industry.
Situated in the centre of the city, the new office will maintain close relations with GRL’s clients in Aberdeen, including Sonsub, DeepOcean and Fugro. Equipped with a full ROVolution simulator and DeepWorks visualisation suite, the Aberdeen office will cater for subsea sales and offer ROV pilot training in the North-East.
“We wanted to be in Aberdeen to work alongside our customers, so it’s fundamentally aimed at closer relationships and closer support, so customers have someone around the corner who can come in,” said Miller Crockart Head of Business Development at GRL. “We also think being geographically close to the client we can better understand the problems they face on a day-to-day basis and in so doing we can come up with more solutions.”
"Having local suppliers is good and GRL is now our local supplier," said George Robertson, Fugro Academy’s ROV Training Manager. “Having GRL on our doorstep will facilitate closer contact and help us optimise our use of the advanced simulator that Fugro has commissioned."
