First glimpse of SiteNet revealed by IDS

- New web-delivered complete site management tool unveiled

IDS, the largest provider of web-based reporting and analysis services to the upstream oil and gas industry, today reveals a first glimpse of its new web-delivered complete site management tool, SiteNet.

SiteNet tracks the life of the site from permitting and initial survey right through to recovery and remediation. It allows the site to be managed throughout its operational lifecycle, including construction, reclamation, drilling waste and remediation. Operational phases can be planned and the associated costs set out before the physical process begins.

SiteNet is the navigation tool for the operational lease manager. Only SiteNet offers all of the following capabilities in a single package:
o Tracking costs, estimates and budgets
o Assigning locations to events and components
o Recording site assessments (surveys)
o Storing approvals and upcoming inspections
o Logging communications to track important events
o Tracking the status and availability of components
o Compliance with local regulatory environment

IDS’s industry-experienced engineers developed SiteNet in response to client demand. With the request for such a tool being urgent, IDS delivered the fully finished product in record time: less than three months from specification to pilot release.

Full integration with IDS’s suite of other web-based data reporting tools, DataNet2, means that SiteNet can share data and analysis. Well information can be reused without the need for painstaking and error-inducing, re-inputting of data. SiteNet integrates with DrillNet to provide a complete site and drilling solution; and with CostNet to provide a breakdown of the costs throughout the site’s lifecycle.

From the moment a survey of a new location takes place, SiteNet helps the site manager to asses how much work is required to transform it into a working rig location. Site activities can be reported daily for both information and regulatory purposes and assessments can be made of the planned and actual times and costs to complete an operation.

Douwe Franssens, GM of the IDS Group says: “All product innovation at IDS works towards centralisation. The integration of reporting tools on a common database reduces errors, introduces time and cost savings and facilitates the transition between areas of responsibility. In response to client demand, site management is now integrated into the DataNet2 system and our development team has worked hard to bring SiteNet from concept to deployment while maintaining full integration with the other IDS reporting tools. Being able to respond to our clients’ needs in this way is an important part of the IDS ethos.”
