Pioneering Aberdeen IT company Motion Software has appointed Keith Mathieson as Business Development Manager as the company looks for further growth in 2010.
A former programmer and systems analyst, Keith has more than 12 years’ experience and previously worked in a similar business development role with another Aberdeen-based IT firm.
Motion Software – a Microsoft Gold Partner – has already increased its workforce by 50% in the past six months and is looking to recruit at least 4 expert staff in the next six months as demand for its services grows.
Keith’s appointment enhances the company’s reputation and follows the announcement of Motion Software’s pioneering inspection solution, aspire, for capturing data at the point of inspection even in the most hazardous zones offshore and other potentially-explosive environments.
Mi2 (Motion inspection, version 2) products are the latest tools in Motion Software’s suite of services that includes aspire sales and rental, a rental management software solution covering the entire equipment life cycle; inspection and certification; Business Intelligence, covering reporting and analysis, and Microsoft customised development, primarily based on .Net technologies.
Keith, 34, said: “Motion Software is looking to the future by using the latest technology to improve efficiencies in office and non-office working environments. The way the Motion Software team is constantly evolving products is one of the main reasons I joined the company.
“It is an exciting time in the IT industry and this is a great opportunity to work with a specialist that provides bespoke customised software and hardware. Offering this kind of service means Motion can deliver a solution that exactly matches our customers’ requirements rather than compromising their business procedures to fit an average package solution.
“I’m looking forward to growing the business in 2010 and helping clients gain a competitive edge through offerings like Business Intelligence that allows companies to make better and more accurate decisions using their existing data.”
Motion Software has worked for several years with a range of clients around the world delivering its bespoke software and hardware solutions to improve efficiency and maximise profitability.
Stephen Burt, Managing Director of Motion Software, believes his company’s energy industry experience and range of solutions makes it particularly attractive to companies who, in the current environment, want enhanced efficiency and reduced costs without compromising quality.
He said: “The arrival of Keith will help Motion Software expand in 2010, especially in the area of mobile computing, and consolidate our place in the sector.
“Motion Software has also achieved gold-certified status from Microsoft in recognition of our innovative implementation and deployment of technology. We’re now looking to build on that by creating more unique solutions for the energy industry and the wider business community.”
