Xodus Doubles in Size for Third Year in a Row

18 November 2008

At the end of its third financial year, the Xodus Group is reporting a £14 million turnover and a global workforce of just under 190 – a 100% increase on 2007.

The fast-rising Aberdeen-headquartered oil and gas consultancy is predicting reaching £25 million in 2009 with major growth coming from international oil and gas business driven through its London office and from its rapidly expanding renewable energy division.

It is also anticipated that staff numbers across the Xodus Group will increase to 300 in the next 12 months. To support the growth Xodus has just opened negotiations to secure 17,000 square feet of office accommodation in Aberdeen. The new offices will be capable of allowing for the granite city workforce to grow to over 200.

Managing Director Colin Manson says: “We continue to exceed even our most ambitious targets right across the business. Adding to our capabilities with the environmental, renewable energy and technical, safety, risk and reliability divisions has given us greater depth in terms of our integrated offering.

“We have steadily developed the Xodus brand and built a formidable reputation for being one of, if not the, leading consultancy for oil and gas field development.

“Our focus is on further consolidating our integrated approach across these five areas and driving international growth from our key hubs in Aberdeen, London and Perth, Australia.”

The London office, opened in early 2008, is already working on three field development studies in addition to a clutch of major international contracts. Whereas the Perth Australia office has now delivered projects on some world-class field developments such as Sunrise, Angel and Macedon.

“We have also been awarded a contract to provide a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIA) for Woodside Energy’s Sunrise project. This is the largest contract in Xodus Group history and is a major coup for our new environmental division in Perth,” adds Manson.

One of five finalists in the recent Scottish Bank of Scotland Corporate £35 million Entrepreneur Challenge, Xodus is a multi-discipline consultancy specialising in the independent delivery of a range of integrated consultancy services that support the upstream oil and gas sector and the emerging renewable energy markets. The Xodus Group comprises five divisions in the areas of oil & gas, technology, subsea, renewables, environmental and safety risk & reliability and has offices in Aberdeen, Orkney, London and Perth Australia.
