· Mobilization of drilling rig has commenced
· Official opening of Karlebo-1 on September 27
The drilling rig mobilization has commenced and the first out of 45 drilling rig loads has arrived to the drilling site in Karlebo, Denmark. The biggest loads, including the rig and mast along with the mud tanks and mud pumps, are already on site. The assembly of the drilling equipment is underway and the spud of the well will take place at the end of September. On September 27, the drilling operations will be officially inaugurated by Olav Aaen, the major of Karlebo. Representatives from the Danish Energy Authority, local politicians, fire authorities and other interested parties will also be present at the official opening.
The drilling of the exploration well is the first onshore Denmark for almost 50 years, and it is planned to be 2,500 meters deep. The license was awarded by the Danish government during the summer of 2002. Tethys Oil is the operator of the licenses with 50 percent interest.
