Regal Petroleum (AIM: RPT), the independent oil & gas exploration and production company with interests in the Ukraine, Romania and Egypt, announces the appointment of Mr Keith Henry as Non-Executive Chairman of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr Henry, aged 63, has over 34 years experience in the development, financing, design, construction and management of projects in the oil and gas, process, pipeline, energy and construction industries, during which time he was Chief Executive of National Power Plc, Kvaerner Engineering and Construction Limited and Brown & Root Limited. He previously served as Deputy Chairman of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA from 2003 and then as Chairman of Petrojarl ASA in 2006. He also served as a non-executive director of South East Water Ltd from 2005 to 2007, of Enterprise Oil plc from 1995 to 2002 and of First Calgary Petroleums Ltd from 2007 to March 2008 and has been nominated to rejoin the board of First Calgary Petroleums Ltd as a non-executive director with effect from 18 April 2008.
In recent years, Mr Henry has held a number of senior non-executive roles, including Chairman of Burren Energy plc for three years until the sale of the company to Eni SpA in January 2008. He is currently the senior independent non-executive director of Emerald Energy plc and a non-executive director of four privately owned companies. Mr Henry is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a chartered civil engineer with degrees from London University and the University of Birmingham.
