ROC Oil Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

ROC Oil advises that, effective 24 September 2008, Mr Bruce Clement has been appointed as ROC’s Chief Executive Officer ("CEO").

Mr Clement, who is an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Company, has been Acting CEO since June 2008. He joined the Company in 1997 and has held a number of positions including Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and Commercial Manager.

Mr Clement has over 28 years of oil and gas industry experience, including banking sector exposure, having held engineering and project management, commercial and supervisory roles with Exxon Corporation, Ampolex and AIDC Limited.

Mr Clement holds Bachelors of Engineering (Hons) and Science from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie University.

Commenting on Mr Clement’s appointment, ROC’s Chairman, Mr Andrew Love, stated:
"The Company is entering into an exciting time in its history with record cash flows being generated and the Anzon takeover more than doubling reserves. The Board has completed an independent external evaluation of candidates for this important role. Bruce has been a key member of the executive team over the last 10 years and possesses an excellent breadth of industry experience. The Board is confident that Bruce is the best person to lead the Company, to take advantage of its current position and to take ROC into its next phase of growth. The Board congratulates Bruce on his appointment and looks forward to working with him in his new role."
