Pars Oil & Gas Company (POGC) provide the following production update for the period covering 2008 and early 2009.
"In 2008 and early 2009, the whole amount of sweet gas produced in refinery of phase one-6730 MMCM-; refineries of phases two and three-18600 MMCM-; refineries of phases four and five-18550 MMCM-; and refineries of phases nine and ten-2347 MMCM-to be injected into the overall gas pipeline. It was also to be used in Pars Special Energy Zone. It is noteworthy that the amount of gas produced in this period of time is considered to be a record in the history of POGC activities; and accounts for over 40% of the total amount of gas produced in Iran", Abdiaei added.
"In 2008 and early 2009, the 75 mb1 gas condensate produced in Pars Special Energy Zone supplied the feedstock of South Pars petrochemical complex and paved grounds for exporting gas condensate via Assaluyeh export terminal to countries such as Singapore and UAE", Abdiaei said.
"In addition to the gas condensate produced in 2008 and early 2009, 330,000 tons of sulfur was produced in South Pars refineries as byproduct of the refineries and was exported Abdiaei said.
Pars Oil & Gas Company (POGC) is responsible for development of South Pars, North Pars, Golshan and Ferdowsi gas fields in the Persian Gulf waters. Based on the latest estimations made, the gas- in- place in Iran's portion amounts to 14 TCM which accounts for 8 percent of the world's gas reserves and 50 percent of Iran's gas reserves. Iran's portion has around 18 bn barrels of gas condensate.
