Well 2001, drilled at the South East extremity of the M’Boundi field, has reached the Vandji sandstone impregnated with hydrocarbons over a depth of 10 meters. The tests on the 32/64 inch choke have given a flow of 420 barrels per day. Assessment of this new production zone is continuing with the installation of the MBD-2002 well situated up-slope of the MBD-2001 well. An MBD-2003 well should also make it possible to explore a new block, not yet investigated, to the North East of the MBD-2001 well.

On the Tangara permit, the joint venture made up of Total (55%), Talisman (30%) and Hocol (15%, an operator subsidiary wholly owned by Maurel & Prom), has decided to stop the current drilling on Tangara 1 following technical problems encountered while drilling due to the profile used to reach the objective.

Hocol, the operator, is looking into the possibility of drilling a new well to reach this target that holds great potential. This new well should have an optimized trajectory and design in order to cope with the geological instability of the area, bordering the Andes mountain chain.
