Leadership Change at E.ON in Sweden

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

Håkan Buskhe, 44, will become the new Chief Executive Officer of E.ON Sverige AB, E.ON’s Swedish subsidiary. At a meeting yesterday, the E.ON Sverige Board of Directors appointed Buskhe, an experienced energy-industry manager who is currently the company’s Deputy CEO, to head up its leadership team effective January 1, 2008. Buskhe succeeds Lars Frithiof, 61, who will retire effective the same date.

E.ON CEO Wulf H. Bernotat expressed E.ON’s thanks for Frithiof’s service: “For years, Lars Frithiof has been the face of E.ON in Northern Europe. He was the driving force in the integration of Sydkraft and later E.ON Sverige into our international company. He superbly positioned E.ON in the Scandinavian market. His successor, Håkan Buskhe, is a very experienced member of E.ON Sverige’s proven management team. I’m convinced that he’ll succeed in expanding our strong position in this highly competitive market and wish him all the best for the challenges ahead.”

Buskhe, who came to E.ON in March 2006 from Schenker AG of Germany, is currently Deputy CEO of E.ON Sverige and President of its Electricity Production business area. Frithiof, who joined E.ON Sverige (then called Sydkraft) in 1988 as Chief Financial Officer, has been its CEO since 1998.
