Halliburton's Landmark Software and Services business line has announced the release of the DecisionSpace® Desktop software suite, designed to modernize and streamline upstream technology workflows. It sets a new industry standard by enabling distributed, multi-user teams to work in a common workspace, leading to more efficient and informed decision-making.
'With the DecisionSpace Desktop suite, Landmark has delivered a solution that will fundamentally change how exploration and production (E&P) subsurface professionals will work,' said Dave Lesar, Halliburton's Chairman, President and CEO. 'By focusing on technology and process innovation, we've delivered a collaborative environment that is already making users more productive, and empowering them with greater insight into their subsurface challenges.'
Through 'immersive collaboration,' the DecisionSpace Desktop suite improves user efficiency by connecting data, people and cutting-edge science in a whole new way. By eliminating the cumbersome data management challenges inherent to so many workflows, user productivity is improved by more than 60 percent over traditional approaches. Additional gains are found via workflow and collaboration enhancements, resulting in more informed decisions and increased project success rates.
The DecisionSpace Desktop suite is built on the industry-leading OpenWorks® project database. This open data management solution ensures data integrity and business continuity by providing seamless access to existing data and applications. Through the OpenWorks database, instant updates are available so that decisions are based on the most current analysis of data. This data access is what enables the DecisionSpace Desktop suite to be a turnkey solution for critical real-time information analysis from industry service companies throughout the life of the field.
'DecisionSpace Desktop suite customers benefit from two key productivity gains over existing solutions,' said Gene Minnich, vice president of Landmark Software and Services. 'The first productivity gain results from the elimination of manual data search and manipulation. The second gain comes from the synergies found as a result of numerous cross-discipline technologies being available in a single application. Users can step through processes quickly, as the system recognizes the interdependencies and suggests intelligent default data. Additionally, the learning curve is reduced dramatically, as users no longer need to learn multiple different application interfaces.'
In response to industry needs related to complex challenges and a growing experience divide, Landmark's development strategy is to provide leading science in a practical and intuitive user experience. Tools are provided to capture the knowledge and best practices of experts, helping new employees learn proprietary processes and quickly add value to their organizations.
