Jacobs Wins Contract for New Thermal Oil Facility from Major Oil and Gas Company

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announces it received a contract from a major oil and gas company for engineering of its thermal facility located near Lac la Biche, Alberta, Canada.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

Jacobs will perform EDS and detailed engineering and procurement services for the 40,000 barrel-per-day in-situ oil sands central processing facility. Engineering activities will begin in December 2009 with 40 percent or more of the engineering executed from Jacobs' Mumbai, India, office.

In making this announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Chip Mitchell stated, "We have worked with oil producers to develop economically viable production facilities for more than 30 years, and in that time have completed in excess of 40 heavy oil recovery projects. This major project strengthens our position as a leader in the in-situ industry. We are thrilled to add this facility to our increasing portfolio."
