Island Oil & Gas Announces Non-Executive Appointment

Island Oil & Gas plc announces that it is expanding its Board with the appointment of Adrian Doull as a Non-executive Director with effect from 12 September 2008.

Adrian (age 64) was born in South Africa and graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Adrian has had a long association with the oil and gas industry, particularly in North America where he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Anglo American Group's operating businesses.

He is a director of Comm Inc and has served on the board of a number of oil and gas companies, including Adobe Oil & Gas, Francana Oil & Gas, Canadian Merrill and Trend Exploration.

He has considerable international experience in natural resources in Africa and North America, as well as in Europe, where he has lived for the past 20 years. Until 2003, he was Senior Director - Europe, Africa & the Middle East, of the international energy research and consulting firm, Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA).
