InterOil Corporation, a Canadian company with operations in Papua New Guinea announced today that following surface modifications, the Elk-4 well has established a record gas flow rate of 105 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day which is the highest known flow rate for a gas well in Papua New Guinea. This event was witnessed by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Sir Michael Somare, MPs, senior government officials, including members from the Department of Petroleum and distinguished guests.
