Imperial Oil Announces Board Appointments

Imperial, the oil company announces the appointment of Christopher Hopkinson and Denis Kurochkin to the Board of Imperial.

Mr Hopkinson, currently Managing Director of Tomsk Operations, will step up to the role of COO of the Group and Group CEO designate of the Company. On the Company’s admission to the Main Market, which is expected in March 2007, Mr Hopkinson will assume the role of CEO of Imperial with Peter Levine continuing as Chairman.

Mr Denis Kurochkin, will continue in his current role as Chief Financial Officer, Russia.

Mr Peter Levine, Chairman, commented:

“These appointments reflect the ongoing evolution of Imperial and the strengthening of the Board is an important step towards our move to the Main Market of the LSE.

Their appointment to the board reflects their experience in the oil sector and the professionalism they have shown in a short period of time with the Company. They have already impressed both myself and our institutional investors. I am confident that their experience in bringing major developments on stream in Russia will materially assist in Imperial achieving the ambitious goals it has set itself for the next 12 months.”
