HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. - Spudding of well 1-HRT-8-AM

  • The well has been drilled by the rig QG-VIII, and is forecast to reach a final depth at 3,365m.

HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP) announces that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploração e Produção de Petróleo Ltda, on March 17, 2012 at 06:00 p.m., spudded the well 1-HRT-8-AM, in the prospect Aroeira (1-HRT-169-02-AM), located in the Block SOL-T-169, Solimões Basin, in the Municipality of Tefé-AM.

This location aims to test a 25 km2 area structure which belongs to a gas trend drilled by the well 1-HRT-5-AM. The location is situated at 20 km southeast of the Juruá Field.

The main targets are the Carboniferous reservoirs of the Juruá Formation expected at a 3,000m depth, as well as the Devonian reservoirs of the Uerê Formation. The well has been drilled by the rig QG-VIII, and is forecast to reach a final depth at 3,365m.
