Monday, August 11, 2003

Granby Enterprises Limited and partners Energy 365 Limited were awarded block 21/6b (Promote Licence) in the recently announced results of the UKCS 21st Offshore Licensing Round.
Announcing the results, Energy Minister Stephen Timms said: 'Today's offers are fantastic news for the UK oil and gas industry and I am particularly pleased with the number of newcomers to the North Sea. The Promote Licence has attracted fresh and energetic new players from both home and overseas. It is clear confirmation that our policies in the North Sea are working and that the UKCS still offers plenty of opportunities for investment and exploration.'
Block 21/6b is located in the UKCS Central Graben area, and the award made to the Granby Enterprises Group was one of 53 new licences awarded within the 'Promote' category.
The Granby application secured the licence with a final score of 83 points, one of the highest (4th position) in the promote category overall, and the highest score (in 1st position) for all Central and Northern North Sea Promote applications.
