Petrohawk Energy Corporation announces that Dick Stoneburner has been named President of Petrohawk Energy Corporation effective today. Mr. Stoneburner will hold the title of President and Chief Operating Officer.
"Dick's promotion is in recognition of his leadership and expertise, which he has thoroughly demonstrated during the last year, in directing Petrohawk's talented staff to deliver outstanding results," said Floyd C. Wilson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Wilson's duties and involvement will be unchanged.
Prior to joining Petrohawk, Mr. Stoneburner was Vice President-Exploration of 3TEC Energy Corporation from December 1999 until its merger with Plains Exploration & Production Company in June 2003. Prior to joining 3TEC, Mr. Stoneburner worked as a geologist through several successful private ventures, including Texas Oil & Gas and Hugoton Energy, and independently through his own company, Stoneburner Exploration, Inc. Mr. Stoneburner has over 30 years of experience in the energy business and is one of the founders of Petrohawk Energy Corporation.
