Carbon Sciences Inc., the developer of a breakthrough technology to transform harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) into high value, earth-friendly products, announced today the opening of a new research and development center to expedite the development and commercialization of its technology.
Derek McLeish, the company's CEO, commented on the move, "We are very excited about securing and moving into our new and larger facility. This office and industrial space will be able to accommodate our aggressive growth plan over the next couple of years. With our core scientific and engineering team all under one roof, I believe we can start making dramatic progress."
The company will use this new center to expand the development of its innovative technology to transform CO2 into a high value compound for use in paper, pharmaceuticals and other products; already a multi-billion dollar market opportunity.
The new center is located at 5511 Ekwill Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93111. It has been built out to include over 2,000 square feet of chemical engineering facilities for experiments and process development. State-of-the-art equipment, such as multi-chamber reactors, will be installed shortly to enable parallel experiments for helping the Carbon Sciences team narrow down the parameters for a highly efficient and cost effective CO2 transformation system.
Mr. McLeish concluded, "We believe transforming CO2 into useful high value products is a very powerful proposition. With our new research and development facility, we intend to move full steam ahead in delivering a viable solution to the CO2 problem."
