Blue Energy Limited announces that following positive results at Azure #1 it will continue its exploration drilling program in the 100% owned ATP 817P located approximately 55km north west of Injune QLD.
Following cased hole geophysical logging operations at Azure #1, Blue Energy has confirmed 4.9 m of continuous coal pay thickness previously estimated from geological reports during drilling of the well. Additional core drilling at Azure #2 and Azure #6 has commenced and will characterise the extent of the coal and the Coal Seam Gas (CSG) resource potential within ATP 817P.
The current drilling is targeting the potentially thick and continuous Permian Bandanna coals on the Springsure Shelf, a regional geological province of the Bowen Basin. These coals are producing Coal Seam Gas (CSG) in the nearby Santos Fairview and Origin Spring Gully fields.
