Thursday, September 13, 2007

RWE Dea was chosen as the “Most Enterprising Exploration & Production Company” of the year 2006. The prize was awarded by “Petroleum Economist” a renowned industry publication.

“This award confirms the strategic direction we have taken of relying on organic growth to extend our natural gas and crude oil production in close proximity to the European consumption centers” said Lutz-Michael Liebau, Chief Financial Officer of RWE Dea, who accepted the prize yesterday evening in London’s Banquett House on behalf of the company. The enterprise aims to double its production in the next six years and achieve a production volume of approx. 13 million mt of oil equivalents in the year 2013.

“In doing so, it is a special challenge for us to bring our successful exploration projects into production as speedily as possible,” Liebau added. In achieving strike quotas of more than 60 percent in appraisal and exploration wells drilled, RWE has been highly successful in its core regions. In the process, the company has managed to extend its base of reserves and resources substantially.
