Aurelian Oil and Gas PLC announces on behalf of its Polish subsidiary, Energia Zachod Sp. z o.o., that it has been awarded the Poznan Polnok (Poznan North) exploration concession by the State Treasury of Poland. The concession area mainly lies within the northern and eastern suburbs of the City of Poznan.
Poznan Polnok is adjacent and to the west of the Poznan Wschod (Poznan East) concession, where Aurelian drilled the successful Trzek-1 gas well in 2007. The award of the concession will enable the evaluation of the probable westward extension under Poznan City of the Siekierki structural trend on which Trzek-1 was drilled.
Energia Zachod Sp. z o.o. is owned 90% by Aurelian and 10% by Avobone Poland B.V.
The technical information and opinions contained in this announcement have been reviewed by Roy Hartley B.Sc (Hons) (Imperial College), FEI, FGS, C.Eng, Aurelian’s Operations Director who has over 30 years’ experience in the oil exploration and production industry. He has consented to the inclusion herein of such technical information and opinions.
Michael Seymour, Aurelian’s Managing Director, commented:
"Poznan Polnok is an important addition to our Siekierki project. The 3-D seismic coverage, recently acquired and now being processed, will provide important technical information about the Poznan Polnoc area and we believe additional gas resources can and will be produced from here.
Over the forthcoming months, such coverage as it has been possible to obtain over the Poznan Polnok area in the 3D seismic survey will be evaluated and integrated with the existing interpretation of the Siekierki trend."
