Sunday, February 14, 2010

On 4th February 2010, Perenco Gabon's Diga-Ozangue pipeline project reached a further milestone with the delivery of 3 000 Tonnes of Zap-Lok pipes to Port-Gentil.

The Diga-Ozangue gas pipeline project represents a $16 million investment, and reflects Perenco Gabon's clear strategy of responding to Gabon's growing demand for natural gas. The 35km pipeline is now expected to be laid at the start of the next dry season. When completed, it will allow Perenco Gabon to export gas from the Ozangue field. This project reinforces Perenco Gabon's position as the largest provider of natural gas within Gabon.

The 10" pipes were manufactured in the city of Borusan in Turkey during Q4 2009.

Nicolas Frouin, Project Manager, said:
"The receipt of the piping is a further key milestone in this important project, and follows the recent successful completion of the "Right Of Way" phase. We are now fully ready for the pipe laying. We are pleased that the project continues to run within budget and ahead of schedule."

Maurel & Prom are also participating in financing the project, for gas delivery to the Onal Station.
