Mustang Awarded Detail Design for Chevron Jack & St. Malo Deepwater Facility

Tuesday, September 07, 2010

Mustang, a Wood Group company, has been selected by Chevron to perform detail design for topsides facilities for the Chevron Jack and St. Malo floating semi-submersible facility, to be located in approximately 7,000 feet of water in the Walker Ridge Area of the Gulf of Mexico. Mustang was chosen based on its successful front-end engineering design (FEED) for the project, which was completed according to ISO 9001-certified quality management standards ahead of schedule and under budget.

Mustang is also providing detailed engineering for integrated control and safety systems under its International Master Agreement with Chevron. The agreement appoints Mustang as a Main Automation Contractor (MAC) for Chevron's Global Upstream business units. The Jack and St. Malo facility is Chevron's second semi-submersible in the Gulf of Mexico and one of the largest in the world.

Mustang has designed more semi-submersible topsides production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico, including for Chevron's Blind Faith platform, than any other company.
