MARINE Subsea (UK) Ltd has strengthened its subsea management team with the appointment of new projects manager Tony McKay, a former project director with Petrofac.
Mr McKay, 51, will be responsible for marine projects for the Aberdeen-based subsea intervention specialist.
He brings 30 years oil and gas experience in the development and management of worldwide projects from concept through to FEED studies to implementation and commissioning.
McKay worked on key projects within Petrofac in both project director and project manager positions spanning six years. As projects director he was responsible for the European business delivery and overall execution of projects including team management.
Prior to this, McKay worked at Kellogg Brown and Root for 24 years in project management roles spanning UK, Middle East and India. His experience in these regions included work on major Greenfield, Brownfield and decommissioning projects. He also managed the implementation of the LEAN engineering process and held the position of country HSE manager.
McKay said: 'It is a pleasure to join Subsea Marine at such a pivotal time in the company's growth. My experience has given me a broad perspective of the oil and gas industry on major green and brown field projects. I've worked on projects ranging in size from overall Greenfield developments over £1 billion, to new build minimum facility platforms and decommissioning of two major facilities. I am looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead and moving the business forward to a new level.'
Alasdair Cowie, managing director said: 'I am delighted that Tony has joined our subsea marine team. We have a healthy order book for 2010 and are focused on the continued delivery of subsea rigless intervention, decommissioning and construction services in Europe and West Africa.'
