Cobalt International Appoints Executive VP and General Manager, Cobalt Angola

Cobalt International Energy, Inc. has named Michael D. Drennon as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cobalt Angola effective April 1, 2010.
"I am very pleased to welcome Mike to the Cobalt executive team," said Joseph H. Bryant, Cobalt Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Mike brings to Cobalt extensive global expertise and experience. His prior experience in Angola provides a solid foundation for Cobalt's business there."
Mr. Drennon joins Cobalt with some 33 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Cobalt, Mr. Drennon held the position of Vice President, Operations for Parker Drilling Company. Prior to joining Parker Drilling, Mr. Drennon held various executive positions at BP and Amoco in the United States, United Kingdom, China, Trinidad, Norway and Angola. Mr. Drennon received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1977.
